There are two main ways to perform an energy assessment for new / and renovated Class 3 resorts / hotels: Deemed to Satisfy Assessment (DTS) or Commercial Building Assessment Software. AEEBC has extensive experience in performing energy efficiency assessments for resorts / hotels, ranging from expansive beach front resorts to multi-story high rise hotels. These types of buildings often contain mixed uses such as combinations of dwelling, offices and retail. Please see below for an example of previous projects we have been involved in.
AEEBC completed the energy assessment for the Seashells Resort in Mandurah (Stage 2) using the commercial Deemed to Satisfy Assessment method for 90 class 3 tourism units and FirstRate for 24 class 2 residential units.
The assessment demonstrated the benefits of using thermally efficient solar control glazing allowing the dwellings to maximize ocean front views. AEEBC ensured optimum insulation levels were used in framed external walls to comply with BCA requirements. A review of the mechanical and electrical services was conducted to ensure air-conditioning and lighting was energy efficient and complied with BCA requirements.
