PART J BCA COMMERCIAL BUILDING ENERGY ASSESSMENTS – CADDS ENERGY
Part J BCA compliance for commercial buildings can be provided by CADDS Energy through either the Deemed to Satisfy (DTS) provisions or the JV3 performance based solution. CADDS Energy has performed both assessment types on a diversity of single use and mixed-use commercial projects such as offices, retail, restaurants / cafes, workshops, warehouses, aged-care facilities, schools and daycare facilities. In many cases we have assessed buildings which contain many classes of buildings in the same envelope such as apartments above offices, restaurants and retail shops.
JV3 Case Study:
CAR DEALERSHIP SHOWROOMS
CADDS in conjunction with EMET Consultants recently completed a JV3 assessment for a client involved in the design of a large car dealership. The design brief had strict requirements to retain the extensive glazing on two facades to maintain public viewing of showroom stock. CADDS Energy initially found that compliance with the Deemed to Satisfy Part J provisions where costly and would require unwanted reductions in glazing. On request CADDS completed extensive JV3 modelling and achieved compliance with BCA energy efficiency regulations with no significant additional costs or changes to the design.
